Free Trade Day 2019 on the Central Coast

Free Trade Day 2019 kicked off with a few light showers in the morning. So we thought, it ended up raining all day. At times turning into very heavy rain patches. But let’s face it, the rain is really needed on the Central Coast at the moment. Despite all the rain, it didn’t dampen the spirits of the My Timber Flooring team. As we participated in our third year of Free Trade Day on the Central Coast. Free Trade Day is about the ‘Business of Kindness’ where local tradies volunteer to give up there time to assist others in need of a genuine helping hand. Our project this year was a new floor for a wonderful Lady in Blue Haven. Due to life’s challenges, the family home ended up without any floor coverings. The family where living on an exposed concrete floor in most of the rooms in the home. With the help from Quick-Step Australia, C&R Flooring, My Timber was able to supply and install a new Laminate flooring system to the family home.

Our client is a proud, strong mother who has fought hard all her life to keep a roof over her family’s heads, she had given up on inviting anyone to her home any more due to the condition of your family home. So we set about taking her family home back to a warm, liveable, and inviting home once again. Allowing her to invite her friends and family over for a chat and a cup of tea.

So we set about installing a Quality underlay topped with the latest modern light-oak coloured laminate flooring System. In Fact this project was the first time both the Quick-Step Rep and I had seen this floor laid, as the donated floor has only just recently been released to the Central Coast market. The floor was finished off with brand new skirting boards, kindly donated by Kincumber Mitre 10.

The home now looks amazing again. After the new floor had been installed, you could feel the life coming back to the family home again. Truly Life changing for the proud homeowner. It was a delight to see such a happy smile return to the face of this grateful mother and daughter. It really made all the hard work of the day, ALL worth it. We left the job site at the end of the day after receiving a big warm hug.
