How S-Fold Drapes Transformed This Buff Point Project

Something Beautiful for Your Place…

Begins at Our Place.

When you walk into a home, you don’t notice the individual products—you feel the space.

You feel whether it’s warm.
You feel whether it’s complete.
You feel whether it’s truly home.

For this recent project in Buff Point on the Central Coast, that final feeling came together with one simple, powerful addition:

Double S-fold drapes.

The Vision: A Home with Personality

This wasn’t your typical coastal home.

It had character.
A blend of
coastal calm and retro, speakeasy-inspired style, filled with unique furniture and bold choices.

The journey started with the flooring—blackbutt tones flowing throughout the entire home—and every design decision followed from there.

But something was still missing.

The Challenge: A Beautiful Space That Felt Cold

Before the drapes were installed, the home had:

  • White walls
  • Hard flooring surfaces
  • Open-plan spaces
  • High ceilings

Visually, it was impressive—but emotionally, it felt unfinished.

There was:

  • A lack of softness
  • Harsh natural light in some areas
  • Limited privacy during the day
  • No warmth to balance the materials

The home needed something to bring it all together.

       The Solution: Double S-Fold Drapes

                     Sheer + Blockout

To create both function and feeling, we installed:

✔️ Double S-Fold Drapes

  • Sheer fabric for soft light and daytime privacy
  • Blockout fabric for darkness, comfort, and insulation

Both fabrics were selected in matching tones, creating a seamless, cohesive look across every room.

                   Designed for Real Living

Every space in the home had different needs:

Bedrooms

  • Blockout drapes create a dark, restful environment
  • Sheers allow natural light while maintaining privacy

Media Room

  • Blockouts transform the space into a cinema-like experience
  • Sheers soften the room for everyday use

Open Living Areas

  • Sheers diffuse natural light beautifully
  • Blockouts help retain warmth in winter

👉 One window… two completely different moods.

                   Before                                                     After

            Creating Scale, Drama & Flow

One of the most important design decisions was how the drapes were installed.

Rather than treating them as window coverings, we made them a feature of the home:

  • Extended drops to emphasise ceiling height
  • Wall-to-wall coverage for a dramatic finish
  • Carefully positioned to maintain the flow of the space

Without this approach, the windows would have felt small within large walls.

With it, the entire room feels:

  • Taller
  • Softer
  • More connected

                    Before                                                    After

The Design Challenge                                   Getting the Colour Just Right

The biggest challenge?

Finding a fabric that could:

  • Complement the rich blackbutt flooring
  • Work with cool white walls
  • Reflect the home’s coastal + retro personality
  • Stand out as a feature—without overpowering the space

The solution was a carefully selected brown-based tone—warm enough to soften the room, but refined enough to elevate it.

                        Before                                               After

A Moment That Made It All Worth It

This installation came with a special touch.

The client arranged the install as a surprise for his wife.

She had helped choose the fabrics—but didn’t know when they would be installed.

When she walked through the door and saw the finished result, the impact was immediate.

The rooms felt complete.
Styled.
Finished.

                    Before                                                      After

                 From House… to Home

At the end of the project, we asked the client what he thought.

His response said everything:

“It’s no longer a project… it’s a home now.”

After a long renovation journey, it was the final layer that changed everything.
